A convenient stand to accomodate gongs up to 40"
This gong stand is interesting if you need a stand that can be easily unmountable and, because it is sizable, you can make it fit gongs up to 40" in diameter. Good if you need to travel or have limited space.
But, the downside is that, in my experience, it is not so well built. It is relatively stable, but when playing a gong, wathever the size (I tried 22"-38"), the stand makes some noise, which is disrupting. For me it is the one disappointing point. Maybe one could better secure certain pieces which cause the noisy vibrations, but I have not managed to do so in my case.
So I would summarize as follows: for the price, this gong stand is good if you travel, good if you have not so much space and need to fit different sizes of gongs, good if you need an extra stand, BUT not so good for serious gong work.

O
stable
took a while to mount it, with all the adjustments, but it s solid, doesn t look bad.
some holes are very hard to fit and other are kinda loose and they vibrate from the gong.. you have to find a way to fix that.
i like that it s extensible and that i can move it around

GOS-1538 Gong Stand -nothing special
This stand is composed of too many parts what makes it difficult to set up. If I want to travel I never take it with me. I use it quirte heavy Paiste Gong 36" and when I play (harder" I can hear it resonates what I do not accept .
