I’ve always loved the simplicity and raw power of single-pickup guitars, and the SG Junior is one of the most iconic designs. Since Gibson isn’t currently offering a single-P90 SG Junior, I decided to pick up the Epiphone YUNGBLUD SG Junior CW—and I have to say, it’s a fantastic alternative.For anyone looking for a Gibson-style SG Junior without the high price tag, this is a great option. It’s lightweight, fun to play, and delivers that pure P-90 tone in a no-frills package. While the wraparound bridge might not be for everyone, it’s part of the Junior’s charm, and it keeps the design simple and resonant.

Would I prefer a Gibson version? Sure. But since they don’t make one right now, this Epiphone is a worthy alternative.

Wunderbare Optik und vom Spielgefühl einfach Klasse.
Ich bin begeistert, was ein Pickup doch für eine Soundbreite abdecken kann.
Die Gitarre hat eine ganz leichte Kopflastigkeit, aber das ist bei der SG ja bekannt. Durch einen rauen Ledergurt gleicht man das wieder aus.

Muy buena guitarra, simple pero más que suficiente

Una gran sorpresa, me esperaba mucho menos, si soy sincero.

La guitarra es un poco cara para lo que es, sencilla, sin adornos… solo un trozo de madera con la forma de una SG y con lo mínimo para que suene (1 pastilla sin posibilidad de ajuste en altura, 1 volumen y un 1 tono, un puente que no da mucho juego para la entonación y acción), aun así, todo está perfectamente montado de fábrica y ajustado… vino perfectamente entonada, con la acción un poco alta, pero la bajé y que quedó a mi gusto en solo 1 minuto. No sé si ha sido suerte o si es la tónica con esta guitarra.

Viene con un estuche de la marca austero y de poca calidad, como todos los Epiphone… y curiosamente sin ninguna referencia a edición limitada a 600 piezas para todo el mundo como indican en la descripción del producto (cosa que dudo la verdad… podrían haber fabricado millones y no habría posibilidad de desmentirlo porque no viene numera, ni nada por el estilo… solo una pegatina de Yungbuld…).

Suena muy bien cuando la enchufas y no tiene tanto rango como la Gibson, pero no está mal, la tensión de las cuerdas también es mayor que en una Gibson.

Por el precio y por ser una edición especial, hubiese sido un detalle que hubiesen puesto una pastilla Gibson.

Lo único que no me gusta es el color, es un blanco con un tono que tiende al rosa claro, muy extraño… quizá les quedó un resto de rojo en la pistola al pintarla… nunca había visto nada igual (no es blanco polar, ni vintage… es blanco rosa o rosa muy blanco…).

Por lo demás, mola mucho, se toca muy bien y es muy cómoda (cabeceo normal en una SG).

Todo perfecto con el envío y el servicio de Thomann.

P.D. El diapasón de laurel vino seco y muy claro, pero después de hidratarlo ha cogido un tono oscuro uniforme que da el pego.
