The original 5-way switch on my 1987 American Standard Stratocaster had worn out (intermittently bad contacts in some positions), so I ordered this as a replacement.

It's pretty much exactly the same thing as the original, so needless to say, if fitted like a charm. It comes with mounting bolts and both black and white plastic knobs, but I retained my original, as all the other parts of this guitar have yellowed with age).

Look, its a switch, and its not going to magically improve your tone, but if it lasts me another 32 years on this guitar like the last one did, that's really all I can ask.

This is a top-notch replacement part. Very sturdy and will probably last a few decades. Very smooth operation and has a very tight feel (no wobbling in the in-between positions).

Definately needed in any guitar you buy from HB. Has a great feel an is rigid enough to take a lot of abuse

It's a world standard. I bought this for my custom build, because I never had an issue with original Fenders, and I am an abuser of switches. No need for a more expencive switch.

I installed this on a HB ST59 guitar.

After playing more or less 11/2 years and using carefully the original 5 way switch it was making all kind of noises and had to be replaced.
The Fender switch is excellent and easy to replace!

I bought this product for building my own electric guitar. For those who are interested in building your own guitar or replace your old 5way switch this product guarantees a great sound, and is very easy to install, whether on the pickguard or to the electrical parts. For me, i have nothing bad to point out of the product because it provides me a great sound, when i'm recording or when i'm rehearsing with my band. Therefore,i highly recommend it.
