Disappointed

I couldn't imagine this would be that much worse than squier. The nut slots on CV are usually correct, this one is like they never touched it. The hardware is super cheap. The Jack didn't even fit the cable because it had metal inside and the hole was too tiny to fit the connector. The switch is soldered wrongly. The neck and neck-mid position are connected the same. I initially looked for a gift for a kid and CV-60 was the first choice, but decided to go with "fender" after the positive "independent reviewers" posted misinformation about the "better" hardware and "this is more fender than CV". In addition to the price goes the price of the luthier to fix what factory didn't. There are at least 4 inspection stamps and signatures on the paperwork. What did they inspect I'm wondering. The sounds is quite poor. I think CV-60 has better electronics/pickups. Hope this is not totally lost cause. It is light and the neck is somewhat playable though. This is the last time I bought anything that is not MIM at least.
