The stick is thicker than usual as high density pernambuco wood is rare and expensive. I expected thick stick, so it is not a problem as the bow is reasonably firm. Wood looks nice, with high quality grains. The bow jumps quite lively, for me still controllable but for someone else maybe too much. The sound produced by this bow is very good, much better then my old german brazilwood bow in the same price range. Bow doesn’t feel heavy. The weight and balance point seems to be spot on. A professional bow maker told me that this piece of wood was cut from the wood near knots or irregularities and that I may expect bending issues in the future as a result but so far so good. It is a good firm and good sounding bow wih reasonable price.
