Bought this, used it for a while and then sold it. Didn't help reduce the noise floor, but the box itself was so noisy that it was not good a small room that is both used for recording and mixing.

Overall disappointed
andycroat 25.06.2014
I've sent the unit back to be repaired after a year of its purchase - the power button (felt flimsy anyway) failed and the unit wouldn't turn on. Thomann fixed it - worked for about 6 months only for it to happen again, even after turning it off every 2 or 3 days.
There is no way of powering on the unit once it's been turned off other than in barbaric ways aka shaking it or the good old American slap-on-it so I keep it on at all times. It makes the unwarned power outages a real threat it not to mention to my whole system if it won't turn on again (the power of my hits to its top need to increase each time in order to turn it on) - the local power (distribution) company managed to spike out my previous monitors, a hard drive and half of my sound card due to its notorious voltage jumps.
Another issue is that a low buzz-like hum is getting louder and louder (which also existed on the first day of its operation), coming from where the fuse is. It's still low and can only be heard when there are no other noises but if for example I move my PC (or other rack gear connected to the PL-8C E), even by a centimeter, it goes to irritating levels with an added constant booming tone and I have to adjust the PC case to find a sweet spot for it to disappear.
It does its job well - everything works better since I use it; less noise in the system and the pull-out lights are really cool (the dimmer is also very flimsy) and I'm glad I purchased it if it weren't for this nuisance. If only Furman has/had a stronger quality control, since I've read the same issue happening with (especially) this model. So be advised.

Must Have Unit
Anonymous 19.05.2016
In my opinion these are a must have for any live sound outboard rack. The dimmable lights are awesome, the gooseneck light on the back is very very useful and knowing that your gear is protected is priceless!
Only wish it had a usb charging port on the front, then it would get 5 stars for features. I think the more expensive models might have this though.

Furman PL-8 CE Power Conditioner
Mika O. 04.09.2013
Handling:
This product weights 6kg's which is not too much considering all the components it has inside it. It also takes only 19"/1U space in your rack setup which is very nice thing. It also provides very clean and noise free power to your gear and regulates the power, so you won't hear any pops or other unnecessary sounds through your rig.
Features:
The unit itself has all features that you need; Dimmable lights and LED power indicators in the front, 11 IEC sockets and Bnc -lamp socket in the back. I really think that the switch for the back lamp should be located in the front - then you would have a much easier access to it.
Quality:
Enclosure is made of aluminum for reducing it's overall weight. It also seems very well built unit and so far I haven't had any problems with it!
