Accurate reproduction of 60s Guitar
I have wanted an Gibson SG since its introduction in the 60s and now am able to add it to my collection of top end guitars.
The guitar is well made with quality materials, relatively light weight and comfortable to play.
The set up of the guitar left something to be desired which required me to re-set the truss rod to get the right dip.
The nut was poorly finished and needed rework and it really need replacing.
The string hight was so low on the trebble side that the strings were buzzing all the way up the fingerboard.
The intonation was way out and I had to reverse all of the saddles to get it to plat in tune.
The finish on the frets and fingerboard is good and of the quality you would expect on a guitar of this cost.and the tuners are of a good quality also.
The body finish is good with the quality of the mahogany showing through and the joint impossible to see.
The guitar case provided is of excellent quality and protects the guitar well.
The sound quality is OK and the pick ups reasonable but not as good as my PRS SE Custom which is a better guitar.

Bad QC, but good CS.
This SG was incredible at first glance. It has no neck dive, which is a kind of a miracle for this style of a guitar. It resonates amazing, and also it stays in tune. Again a miracle. However for the price of a guitar it had a lot misshaps. The paint job and the lacquer is not perfect, which should be in this price range. There was lacquer residue on fretboard and there are some small blemished on the body. Not a deal breaker tho. However, the neck pickup was faulty. Gibson did send a new one but still this is something that shouldnt happen. It is not a low entry guitar and also details should matter. Playability and balance is amazing. Frets, fret edge and intonation are perfect right out of box.

Ok but quality control sucks
The sound is as expected for an sg, maybe more bright than I can handle. The pickup selector switch after a few weeks couldn't’ stay at the neck position, something really disappointing for this price range. The small size and light weight are pros. The playability of the neck was nice. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for a main guitar
