The mandolin is nicely made, but I've found a few problems that have spoiled my initial experience:
* the strap pin is huge, and doesn't easily fit a strap, even one I specially ordered from the USA
* the strap pin contains the output jack, but the jack is deeply recessed and doesn't positively connect
* the output signal is thin and lacks depth. It might be an impedance problem, but combined with the poor jack design, it's pretty much unusable.
* as noted by other reviews, the factory supplied strings are very high tension, so had to be replaced straight away.
As I type, the instrument is in a queue to be worked on by my local luthier - not what I expect with a new instrument. There are some good points - the acoustic sound is very good, the arch top is attractive, and the other hardware is good quality. The included hard case is good too.

Erster Eindruck beim Entnehmen: sehr schönes Instrument. In dieser Preisklasse wie zu erwarten mit passendem Koffer. Nach dem Stimmen sofort bespielbar. Der Klang ist einwandfrei und lädt zum Schwärmen ein. Mit passenden Saiten sogar noch zu steigern.
Die Verarbeitung wirkt sehr gut. Einzige Anmerkung - Lackierung am Übergang Schallloch - Hals etwas dürftig. Aber kein Grund zur Rückgabe.

Octave Mandoline M-800 de très bonne facture

Belle réalisation, de fabrication chinoise, très soignée et lutherie bien réalisée avec sa table bombée et son étui rigide de bonne facture.
Manche assez fin facile à jouer . L'instrument est livré monté avec des cordes bronze à tirants très durs ! C'est donc difficile à jouer ! Commandez aussitôt des cordes à boucle 13 20 34 44 light (pour un accord GDAE) . Avec ce montage vous découvrirez alors un son cristallin bien équilibré et sonore . L'instrument possède son système de pick up intégré, juste à insérer le jack par l'arrière . Pour une utilisation maximale amplifiée je vous conseille de passer par le pré-ampli ART TUBE V3 à lampe. Cette octave mandoline est idéal pour les amateurs de musique irlandaise aussi bien en accord ou en mélodie .
