Fantastic guitar...
I received my HB)-850 BK a few hours ago and can easily compare it to my 1987 Ovation CC-11 for playability (and bear in mind the CC-11 has a deep bowl).
I especially like the super shallow bowl. came out of the box well intonated (no changes there from me) and the action is well set. Normally I would have to do a full set up on any new guitar, but this is the one rare exception where I have done nothing to it whatsoever.
If I had to be really (and I mean REALLY) nitpicky about it, there was a tiny bit of excess adhesive on the binding near the neck on the high E side... and you would really have to go looking for that. All in all an excellent guitar value. I love the black with the wood appliqués on it. I may have to order this is blue as well, but maybe the classic with nylon strings.
Long story short, an excellent value for the money and will be seeing a lot of use in my home recording studio. Thanks, Thomann. Another great product.

Why did I wait so long?
I've had my eye on these guitars for years and was hesitant to buy ,being put off by some poor reviews ,but I finally succumbed,
So what did I get?
A guitar that punches way above its price,I've owned a solid top guild dreadnought that didn't sound as sweet!
The set up was perfect sub2mm string height,super level fretwork,
Immaculate Finnish,
Slick machine head's,plus a nice sounding preamp.
I've only dropped 1star off this guitar for the sharp unfinished fret ends ,which was an easy fix,.
The only thing I would advise anyone buying this guitar to do is don't judge it's quality until you get rid of the weird strings it come fitted with! 10s my ear! I fitted Harley Benton coated 10s ,and gave the nut a quick dress with one of those small welding nozzle cleaning file kits you can pick up for 5 euros!.
Was I just fortunate to get a good one ,seems not because I bought my wife the blue one and it's just as good,if only I'd tried one before I'd have saved myself a fortune .

Awesome guitar for the price
Awesome guitar for the price point.
I wasn't sure what to expect for a guitar at this price, but i was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box .
The finish overall was very good , there were a few spots around the neck / body joint where the finish is not perfectly straight but you have to be really looking and be a nit picker like me .
The action was ok but all I had to do was switch from the .011's to 10's and the action is nice and low.
A real pleasure to play .
I had an issue with the bridge piece where the high E string had cut into it and was sounding flat.
Thomann was quick to send out a replacement free of charge I was very pleased with their customer service !
so to summarize this guitar sounds great and the finish is on par with the comparable but much more expensive alternative .
Trust me when I say you cant go wrong with this guitar !

Wow, beyond my expectations
I bought this Harley Benton acoustic as simple guitar to keep around at work to play when the opportunity arises. I had average expectations for the guitar but after playing it through an amp and unplugged, those expectations were upgraded to HOLY COW!
I have played several Ovation acoustics before (some good/some bad) and so I gambled on this being a decent guitar. Well I hit the jackpot because this guitar was ready to go right out of the box. I tuned to D standard and off to the races we went. It sounds amazing plugged in or au natural.
Some might say it's a bright sounding acoustic (which it is). but that's the point it will cut through a mix with clarity and sparkle without a whole lot of fussing around.

Top Quality Electro Acoustic
Many years ago I owned an Applause Acoustic, which was Ovations economy brand but not inexpensive costing four times as much as this HBO-850. Was the Applause four times better...not a chance, in fact it is my opinion that the HBO-850 is at least twice as good as the Applause.
For the money this guitar cost I was hoping for something that looked ok ,was tunable and playable. Harey Benton and Thomann have done it again, this guitar is so much more, totally playable out of the box, good action, stays in tune and really playable. Dont know how they do it for the price but I'm glad they do.

wow!
Its an overall excellent guitar for the price-excellent value for money deal.
Its a nice versatile guitar, with descent electronics which you can play in various styles. Nice body and fret also. Easily could compared with guitars at least in the double price.
Pros: obviously value for money, great sound, “easy” to play

Still punches very well after 13 years
For a budget acoustic, this punches well above its weight class. I have had this guitar now for 13 years (you can say this is a long term ownership review) . It needs some adjusting in the neck department, but other than that, it is pretty solid. The guitar has been kept in a very hot environment as well. The wing shaped inlets glued on the body of the guitar have come off as a result. The guitar? Still knocks. Long story short, sounds well, plays well, aged well. For the €105 spent on this guitar back in 2012, it’s been solid as a rock, far exceeded the expectations.

A pleasant surprise
This was my first HB and I took a chance based on the price and was surprised by the quality. Overall the guitar was very well constructed. No sharp fret ends, although the frets themselves did need a polish but no big deal. Would definitely consider another HB if this is a yardstick of their quality. Very happy and would recommend giving it a try!

In love with this guitar
When I first played this guitar, in fact, it was my teacher's guitar, I couldn't believe my...hands :-)
Next day I ordered one for me, in a different colour. Amazing guitar, value for money, amazing sense, amazing neck, too easy to play, amazing body, too comfortable, cool sound. The factory set up was perfect regarding my tastes.
All my musician friends, but all of them, when they saw and played with this guitar, asked me about the price. When they heard ithe price they could believe that it didn't cost 250-300 euro but just 100euro.
I would buy the same in a different colour.
