Good all-in-one pedal
Anonymous 28.02.2023
It's a good all-in-one pedal, but with some downsides, that came from this versatility. It has linear (or similar) pot, which not best suited for volume (you have very sharp volume change at begining).
But if you want to have one pedal for all needs - it's reasonable trade-off. After some training can get nice sounding swells from it.
Wah (very versatile) and expression features are great.
Can be powered with 9V battery. No need to power, when connected as expression.
Comfy footprint with relatively small size.
Definitely can recommend, but if you mostly interested in volume mode - probably, there is a better options.

Great for wah and expression!
Thompsosos 26.05.2023
The pedal is great for wah and for use as an expression pedal, but the volume mode isn't very smooth. The Q knob is great for subtler wah use, and the wah is great either on warm or classic mode. Volume mode seems to jump from 0 to 20 instantly and then smoothly goes to 100. The pedal is compact and made out of quality material, and is big enough for my size 45 feet, and I don't regret buying it despite the volume mode's shortcomings.

T
Compact and Versatile – Wah, Volume, and Expression in One Pedal
TimeCode 14.09.2023
The Hotone Soul Press II is an impressively compact multi-function pedal that combines wah, volume, and expression capabilities in one rugged, pedalboard-friendly unit. Perfect for players looking to save space without sacrificing functionality.

Key Features:

Four modes: wah, volume, expression, and combined wah/volume

Wah effect with two tonal settings: “warm” and “classic,” plus Q control for frequency response

Active volume section with smooth operation and no tone loss

Position indicator LEDs for precision control

Durable metal housing and lightweight design, ideal for gigging and travel

User Experience:

The wah effect sounds warm, vocal, and expressive in “warm” mode, while “classic” delivers a more traditional, bright response. Volume control is precise, though the transition from full off to audible sound can feel slightly abrupt. The expression mode works well with a wide range of modelers and processors.

Pros:

Saves space by combining three functions in one

Quiet operation with clean signal throughout

Fast, intuitive switching between modes

Solid build and modern, attractive finish

Cons:

Shorter treadle travel compared to full-sized wah or volume pedals

Volume curve may feel sharp at the start of the sweep

Knob markings can be hard to see in low-light situations

Final Verdict:
The Hotone Soul Press II is an excellent solution for guitarists who need a space-saving, all-in-one pedal. The wah sounds great, the volume and expression features are reliable, and it fits seamlessly into any modern setup. A smart choice for practical, versatile rig building.

Volume, expression, and wah
deathlordt 25.08.2024
Volume, expression, and wah, all with one foot (although probably impractical to use all three at once). There is a jump from mute to volume on mine which is annoying but negligible, and besides that it's fine. It does the things and it looks cool.

Value for money

Affordable price tag for some great tones. I really like the 3 in 1 feature of this pedal: wha, volume, and expression.
