Great for shred, not so for clean
vvv88 06.05.2022
Awasome instrument with gorgeous look. Absolutely magnificent color. Very hot for lead with high gain and overdrive. But clean sound is kinda flat and not impressive. However that is not what this guitar was built for.
Excellent access to high frets. Volume control knob location close to the strings is pretty convenient to fast turn your sound on and off but it also has a drawback for me personally. As a seasoned Les Paul player I'm used to play with wide sweeping movements, what is called from the elbow, when it's appropriate and you can't do it on this instrument because of volume knob and pickup switch. But as I mentioned above this beauty is not made for chord playing on clean sound and it is probably a matter of habit. The neck profile is too thin for me but it also seems to be due to a long time spent with my LP.
Case is pretty nice and multi-tool icluded worth a special mention. It is very usefull and helps a lot for tuning.
So if you are looking for a metal (and other high overdrive/distortion genres) guitar this instrument can be an excellent choice. But if you need one universal tool for all types of music perhaps this is not the best option.

FLAWLESS VICTORY

Thomann is been my music GAS station ever since and they've been doing a good job always.
Bought this guitar online, came in a box inside a brand's hard case. I picked up the guitar and did a full body inspection and didn't find any issues / defects. It is well built, quality is outstanding. The finish is "PLUMingly" good just like a candy. If you love purple, you'll be puking rainbows when you see this in person.
The factory setup is just "okay" because it came with a bit high action. The intonation is a bit off in 2 strings (maybe because I tightened the truss rod a bit). I lowered the action and it plays like butter now.
As being a first time Ibanez user, the neck is surprisingly comfortable compared to my Jackson Rhandy Rhoads and PRS 7 string Holocomb (I think not a good comparison with my 7string)
Tone wise, the Dmarzio pickup is more rounder in characteristic in the bottom end but not too hot like Seymour Duncan Alpha and Omega. But still it can chug - I have played metal with it and still awesome. The clean setting is soothingly good, it's articulate like fender.
I am very happy with this purchase so far, this guitar has been a head turner across the room since it arrived. So gorgeous!

B
Great guitar - great value
Blakers 24.01.2026
This is a lot of guitar for the money. A made in Japan Ibanez Prestige for under 1500, a comparable E-II is almost twice the money.

Fit and finish is great, the purple looks really nice with the visible wood grain. I also find the slim neck profile and the natural feeling finish sits really nicely under the hand.

The hardware is top notch, even down to the case which is one of the nicest hard cases I've owned.

Downsides are that this example needs a bit of a fret level as I have some buzzing. The ash body is also quite heavy and it could get tiring during a long gig. My bassword Prestige is a nicer weight.

Would definitely recommend this guitar.
