Update after 8 years of heavy use – very concerned about this purchase

I’ve been using this case heavily for 8 years. While I appreciated its light weight, the build quality has proven to be unreliable. The most alarming issue: the top latch, which is attached to the body of the case, dismantled completely! Thankfully, it happened when I was picking the case up from the floor — not while walking or cycling. Had it failed during transport, it could have resulted in serious damage to the instrument. Because of this critical failure, I will no longer trust Jakob Winter cases.

On a positive note, the plastic clips — which were a major concern initially — have surprisingly held up well after all these years. That said, the 2017 design was not foolproof, and the clips could be left semi-open. This happened several times over the years, but thankfully only on one of the clips, so the other one held the case closed.

In summary, despite the longevity, the structural failure of the latch is a deal-breaker for me.

High CP value sax case

This is a very nice Sax Case with a reasonable price, it fixes my tenor perfectly, and the light weight is really let me to enjoy to carry my tenor to everywhere, the only sad part is that the oversea shipment fee is killing me, if I add the oversea shipping charge then this JW sax case becomes to a very expensive case.

Light and compact

Very compact and very light case which offers nice protection. Well made, looks beautiful. Suitable for transporting your tenor on a motorcycle or bicycle. I would have two suggestions for improvements:
1. Add small space where you could firmly put two/three reeds.
2. As others already stated the 2 plastic case locks don't inspire confidence. Might be just an impression, but I'd prefer beefier ones or 3 instead of 2.

Mieux encore qu'attendu

J'avais déjà dans cette marque un étui de violon, léger pratique et de bonne fabrication, et un robuste étui de sax baryton qui me permet de transporter cet instrument lourd en toute sécurité.
L'étui de ténor réunit les qualités des deux autres. Il est robuste, léger et bien conçu. Mais en plus ses bretelles sont pratiques et confortables, je peux transporter mon ténor à vélo sans presque le sentir sur mon dos.
Dernier point, je trouve son aspect élégant.
