It?s sounds fantastic but I?ve got nothing to compare it with !
I bought a custom shop Gibson J45 as my posh acoustic and it was fitted with a K & K pick-up.
I use the guitar mainly for recording, and had been blending the pickup sound with a condenser at the neck join area . . For my ears the sound was pretty stunning,.
I toyed with doing an unplugged portion at my gigs, and decided that I?d try the pre-amp to get a little bit better control without having to knob twiddle at the desk. . .
The pre-amp makes a HUGE difference, the sound is very rich and big through a pa , and also great in recording, I now frequently don?t bother with a room mic for an acoustic rhythm part.
It is also very simple , which live I think is important in a live situation.
I don?t have any other pre-amps to compare it with , so depending on your experience my thoughts can be taken with a pinch of salt.
I also use it as a DI box for bass guitar , and again it gives a depth and clarity for recording that seems to blend perfectly.
I take a while to select products based on internet research more than trialling gear but it would seem obvious to me to pick this pre-amp if you have the pick-up ?

Excellent in combination with K&K PURE Maccaferri XT two sensor P/Up
Superb bit of kit which in combination with the matching XT pick up has produced for me the next best thing to a pure acoustic sound on My Gitane Llolo Reindhardt guitar. The build quality is excellent and the easy non -screwed access to the battery is a welcome feature. Only slight criticism is that EQ knobs are very tiny and a bit challenging if like me you have nails on r/h fingers

Great for Double bass with the Bass Max pickup. I velcro to the tailpiece and it's accessible fro volume adjustment and does what it says on the tin

Good Preamp. Does the job
Im so glad with it, i used on my 200$ violin and it made like a pro violin, for live and for studio its same quality in se sound. More rich in mid, in all frequencies.
the disavantage is in batery changing, it has a hard piece to take of and so risky to damage inside, im afraid always when i change the battery.
At all it does the job.

The perfect companion for the KK pure mini
It makes the KK pure mini pickup even better, It produces the best sound I've heard out of a lined acoustic guitar.

Perfect match
Bought this at the same time as the K&K Pure passive pickup I fitted to my D35. No frills, straightforward to operate with an wide EQ range producing a balanced, clear transparent sound. Overall it enables a very accurate acoustic sound.
Still very new to me so difficult to comment on its robustness - but the metal case isn’t the sturdiest and I’d worry about its ability to stand up to being accidentally trodden on if it were to be used on the floor or on a pedal board. Not as issue for me however as I use the strap clip.
But overall a great sound ace good value

I love it
Fantastic with k and k mini in my martin guitar. I am using it for 8 months and it's the best acoustic sound I have ever got. I place it on my guitar strap for easy sound adjustment. I also block the soundhole on the guitar to prevent feedback

Convenient little preamp
Great preamp for my k&k pure mini equipped Martin 000-18. I especially like the small form factor, and the easy change of batteries when needed.
