A hefty dose of tone
The F10-6 is a very substantial bit of kit. The long scale and Fodera-style single cut body means that an extra-wide shoulder strap is going to be an essential extra. But all that mass also means that notes will sustain into the middle of next week and the bass holds its tuning brilliantly, even when played aggressively. The neck is wide, but if you've played extended-range instruments for long you'll stop noticing the fact very quickly and the neck finish is lovely. This is a very playable bass, so I've been doing just that.
The Heritage 3 active electronics deliver a mind-boggling range of tone and I also discovered that I can overdrive my amp and get some very satisfying grit out of it. It sounds great in passive mode, too.
When you buy something that's shipped internationally, you need to know it's going to survive shipping. The hard case that comes with the F10 made sure of that, but (unlike other suppliers) Thomann had added extra packaging, all the same. I'm a very happy customer.
