This beater is great. It give both punch with the end of the beater and roundness with the side of it.
I believe it is great to have both options, especially if you play delicate music in which details matter. Compared to other beaters, this one does not damage the surface of your cajon as it is quite soft to the touch.
I highly recommend this beater if you are looking for variety in sound.

Works well, good value

This works well as a cajón beater, either end-on (with the hollow end hitting the cajón) or side-on, which creates a thuddier sound, sort of. I can't contrast it against any other cajón beater, however.
I keep swapping between the two options: end-on seems to work a bit better when the cajón is mic'ed up.
