Expressive, Powerful Wah with Effortless Switchless Operation
The Morley Bad Horsie 2 is an excellent wah pedal that combines expressive tone, intuitive operation, and impressive versatility. One of its biggest advantages is the switchless design, which automatically engages the wah when you step on the pedal and disengages it when you release it. This makes transitions between rhythm and lead playing incredibly convenient, especially during live performances.
The wah produces a distinctive, vocal-like sweep with plenty of character. It works particularly well for expressive solos, aggressive rock and metal riffs, and funky rhythm passages. The Contour mode adds another level of versatility by allowing adjustments to the wah's frequency response and intensity, making it easier to tailor the effect to different guitars, pickups, and playing styles.
The optical design is another advantage, eliminating the traditional potentiometer found in many wah pedals and reducing mechanical wear associated with that component. The construction feels purpose-built for demanding use.
My only minor criticism is that the wah's distinctive voicing may not appeal to players looking for a more traditional, vintage-style wah sound.
Overall, the Bad Horsie 2 is a fantastic choice for guitarists who value expressive control, reliability, and effortless operation. It is especially appealing for players who frequently switch between clean, high-gain, and lead tones. Highly recommended.

Great Wah
Really good wah if you're looking for an 'auto on/off' wah like I was. No button needed to activate it.
With some trim pots in the back, you can control how quickly it turns off once you fully release the pedal. I personally added a bit more time as I felt it turned itself off a bit too soon
