The control centre with the human touch

Novation Launch Control 3, DAW- und MIDI-Controller

With the Launch Control 3, Novation has created a compact sibling for the Launch Control XL 3, expanding the series with a controller that combines powerful DAW management with impressive portability. Despite its compact footprint, it offers 16 endless encoders, eight freely assignable buttons, and an OLED display for direct access to essential functions. The Launch Control 3 is designed for controlling DAWs and plugins, but also external MIDI hardware, making it equally at home in the studio and on stage. The display helps producers keeps track of current parameters and selected tracks, while the rear-panel MIDI connections make it easy for musicians to integrate instruments like synthesizers and drum machines. The result is a versatile control centre for modern production setups that takes up little more desk space than a paperback book.

Precise and practical

The 16 appealingly light and responsive endless encoders on the Novation Launch Control 3 provide very tactile control over pan positions, send levels, effect parameters and much more. Because control mappings can be so freely customised (even the response curves are adjustable), musicians can tailor the controller to their own style and workflow. Each encoder also features its own multicolour LED indicator, with changing colours reflecting different states depending on the function or parameter – for example, a pan control can display different colours for L/R. In DAW mode, the eight buttons are typically used for track functions such as Solo and Mute, though they can just as easily be reassigned to countless custom tasks. The OLED display switches automatically to show the parameter currently being adjusted. One really useful feature here is the Shift button, which lets users check what a control would do before making any actual changes to the parameter itself.

Close at hand

The Launch Control 3 is aimed at producers, musicians, and performers who know exactly how they want their workflow to feel. The Novation Components app can be used to store up to seven custom setups on the device itself, so it's easy to switch between different studio, instrument, or live configurations. A particularly useful feature is the ability to create custom MIDI mappings for hardware synthesizers, grooveboxes, and effects units: An artist can map their favourite functions directly to the Launch Control, so parameters that might otherwise be buried three menus deep are instead close at hand. A wide range of preconfigured templates is already available for many popular devices, making the initial setup process much easier. Also included are Ableton Live Lite and Cubase LE, along with three additional effects plugins: Klevgrand Fosfat for punchier drums, Baby Audio's Parallel Aggressor for added impact and presence, and Output Movement for rhythmic modulation effects.

About Novation

The English company Novation has been producing affordable popular synthesizers as well as MIDI controllers and keyboards since its foundation in 1992. It was later acquired by the well-known British audio interface manufacturer Focusrite, but the brand still exists within the parent company. The outstanding design, high-quality workmanship and excellent price-performance ratio of the Novation Launchpads have continued to win them many new users. Novation synthesizers include the 8-voice Polyphone Peak, the analogue mono synthesizer Bass Station II, the MiniNova and the paraphonic analogue synthesizer Circuit Mono Station.

Analogue, digital – Launch Control can do it all

The Novation Launch Control 3 offers direct integration with Ableton Live and Cubase – versions of both come included here – as well as Logic Pro, FL Studio, and Bitwig. Support for the Mackie HUI protocol further extends compatibility to a wide range of additional production environments. That said, this controller isn't limited to DAW-based setups. Anyone working with a hybrid combination of digital and analogue gear can take advantage of the device's MIDI In, MIDI Out and MIDI Out 2/Thru connectivity. This makes it easy to bring synthesizers, samplers and drum machines into the setup and control them intuitively on one uniform and customised surface. In larger systems especially, that's a real advantage, since performers can handle frequently used functions directly from the Launch Control, rather than constantly hunting through different control layouts on individual devices. Given its compact design, the controller focuses entirely on MIDI connectivity, so there are no CV outputs for directly controlling modular synthesizers. For traditional DAW and MIDI-based setups, however, the Launch Control 3 offers a remarkably flexible set of connectivity options.

This thing rocks!

A Siri improvement on the original. Bear in mind it does not work in DAW mode with mainstage unless you do some things. But all in all, I love it

La pantalla ayuda muchísimo y el tacto es muy bueno.
Pero comprueba antes si tu cliente tiene los mensajes MIDI CC que quieres editar.

solider Controller.
