Phaser

Phase Modulation

This effect revolves around something called the "comb filter effect." It's when frequencies get tangled up and can sometimes cancel each other out. Usually, that's not what you want, but in phasing, we delay the signal, shift its phase, and then throw in some modulation with a low-frequency oscillator (LFO). This makes the comb filter curve stretch and squish.

For this effect, remember these important settings:

  • Modulation speed (how fast it moves)
  • Modulation depth (how far it goes)

A quick tip:

Don't go too wild with the settings; it can get crazy really fast!
