A useful tool to have in the mics trunk, but only for limited use cases
This is a well made piece of kit, that performs well as designed, well worth any professional engineer having in their mics case. My one big criticism after using it in a large number of gigs is that the sensor 15 degree field of view is much too narrow. It often fails to trigger, silencing the singer, when they sing off-centre to the mic, such as a singer-guitarist looking down sideways at their fretboard. This is a serious enough risk to make the device unusable for vocal performances in most professional settings. For low-profile backing vocalists in (say) a pub rock-n-roll gig, facing a hobson's choice of horrible overspill versus occasional muted backing vocals, it's a useful device. There are similar products from a couple of competitor manufacturers, but they all use the same 15-degree infrared sensors, so this one is about as good as you can get.
