Orange Rocker 15 Terror

Disclaimer: I was previously playing through Orange Micro Terror so I do like the "orange" sound.

The packaging: the amp comes with a padded bag that is very nice to use and does not come with a footswitch. I personally think that orange footswitches are a bit bulky so this was not an issue for me.

The sound: I was always a fan of Orange breakup tones and this does deliver everything I was hoping for. In my one-man-band setup it fills the sonic space nicely and has a really punchy mid-range (paired with a V30 cabinet). I can get a really nice variety of gain tones and It all works really well. What I was surprised with is how much I liked the clean tones and how much I end up using the clean channel as a result.

The amp is loud, and I do mean LOUD. The headroom/bedroom switch as well as half/full power work wonders for this. I am yet to be able to take it off the headroom mode for either practice or live as it gets plenty loud. I find that even in 1W mode it is loud enough to hold its own with my small drum kit.

It does have fx loop which is great for delays/looping.

Overall I love the amp and it suites my needs perfectly and so this is going to be the last amp I buy for a long time.

Small negative points:
- Handle does not fold so I cannot set my backup on the top (not really a big issue)
- Aformentioned lack of bundled footswitch (not a problem since I was planning to get a smaller footprint one from a third party anyway)

Sounds really good, simple enough, all settings are usable. Natural channel might seem little limited, but is actually nicely voiced and what comes through depends on what you put in to it. Good with pedals.

In a hardrock band on medium stages I do not need more volume. Cab is usually miked, but it could pump a venue without PAs help for sure. I've never turned master more than 10-11 o'clock in half mode while on stage with 2x12" cab.
The wattage and volume are not in a linear relation to each other and Orange amps could be used in physics class to demonstrate that - it is loud.
I'm really happy with this thing. I believe it could do anything, you just might need a few pedals. But for rock sounds that reach heavy metal territory you actually don't need anything extra.
I have stopped drooling over bigger or fancier amps after I got this (at least I drool a lot less).
If you are thinking to go for a combo model - it sure looks lovely. I thought that 10" speaker might be little bit narrow for my sound. So I went with the head. At first I got Orange's 1x12" cab and a few years later I refurbished a 2x12" oversized cab. So the head gives you more options than combo in that sense. (well yes - you could use bigger cab with combo, but you'd still have to carry the 10" with you even if not using it then). But if you're not so much into heavier music go for a combo, I think it would do great.
And what is it with the whining comments about missing a footswitch? - You buy an amp and get a nice bag in addition! A lot of people do not need another switch, and there for don't want to pay for one by default.

It is versatile, beautiful, powerful amp. I feel that you get what you pay for. Get it if you can!

This is a great amp with a very cool simple design and feature set.
It?s just so easy to carry in the bag comes with it and go to a gig/rehearsal. Build quality is very good for an amp made in China, it feels like real durable amp, not a gimmick.

I bought this amp after having not so nice experiences with build quality of some of the Marshalls I have owned.

But the sound / response is not my thing - although it sounds great - just not my taste. This amp has a slower and more compressed attack in comparison to a typical Marshall or Fender.
So this is not your amp if you are looking for a very sharp, fast pick attack or a sound that?s more pronounced at high mids. Think of this amp more as Black Sabbath / Gary Moore vs Van Halen / Iron Maiden.

If you are looking for a sound to fill the whole spectrum, and take more place in the mix with only one guitar, and sounding fat, very fat - then this is a great amp.

This amp is great for me. The clean channel sounds nice on its own, and also brings out the best in my pedals. On the clean channel, my distortion pedals have a great voice. The dirty channel has a really nice sounding sound at any level of gain. The dirty channel can go from clean to very driven.

The FX Loop works great, including allowing me to use the amp as a pure power amp and a pedal as my pre-amp.

I'm sort of annoyed that the footswitch isn't included but I understand why at this price.

I haven't used the amp much at very high volumes, as I mostly play at home, but every power level sounds great. I'm able to get the amp to a driven sound without bothering the neighbours.

The amp looks great on top of my cabinet and is a very nice and easy to transport size. Overall, I'd say that it's a great amp. I'm looking forward to using it for a very long time as it fits my needs perfectly.

Upon received the product I was very satisfied with the build quality (for a Chinese made product). It looks sturdy and is nicely designed. Even the gigbag is of good quality.

The features are great for the small size, the fx loop and channels switch especially, not forgetting the switchable wattage. But I find the combination of standby switch and half/full wattage switch a bit annoying sometimes, being used to two-position switches (but that's just a minor gripe).

The sound of this amp is something that was not to my liking from the start, but that's just a matter of taste and personal preference as it sounds great. It's not designed for higher gains. Attack seems more compressed Gladly, the clean channel takes distortion pedals really well and it really shines with tubescreamers in front of it.
