I wasn’t sure which Bassrig to choose, but went with this. I’ve used the DI on my Chandler TG2, with my UA1176 compressor and maybe some UA amp sim when mixing.
Plugging the DI out on the Bassrig into my TG2 mic/line input, i found the clean signal to be quite nice. Turning on the cab sim without turning on the effects wasn’t my favorite sound, but with the effects section on, it sounded superb.
The eqs are very musical and hits the right frequencies.
I use a pick and a Fender Mustang JMJ bass and using the suggested Motor City setting gives me just the tone I’m after.

Das Bassrig 64 Black Panel ist genau das, was drauf steht. Ein Analoger Pre-Amp mit Super-Sound. Ich spiele selbst einen originalen Fender Studiobass blackface und einen Ampeg Portaflex und ich kann sagen dass dieser kleine Riese "Bassrig" Soundtechnisch genial klingt. Sehr warmer sound, super response, wie ein echter Tube Bass-Amp, der perfekt gewartet ist. Für mich gibt es kein zurück zum schweren Bass-Amp. Die Features sind vielleicht etwas spartanisch, aber er macht eben genau das was er soll. Fette, warme und wenn man will schöne gezerrte Bässe.

Magnifique préamp

Excellent produit, robuste et fiable, ça sonne, un magnifique son type Fender à lampes !!! 2 simulations d'ampli (Vintage Tweed ou Black US). Le vintage tweed pour son coté agressif et le Black US, plus chaud, plus doux. 3 presets d'égalisation (bright - flat - fat) et bien sur 3 potards d'égalisation pour remodeler tout ça (à noter que le potard des mediums concerne plutôt les hauts medium). Possibilité de modifier l'égalisation (basse et aigu) de la sortie destinée à l'ampli par rapport à celle de la DI. En poussant le gain, on obtient une belle overdrive type lampe et le potard blend permet beaucoup de subtilités. Un seul petit reproche, l'impossibilité d'avoir la sortie DI sans la simulation HP 2x15, un petit switch "on / off" aurait été le bienvenu concernant la simulation HP. C'est pas donné, mais vous en aurez pour votre argent.
