Good sound & volume, great buy!
For this price the cab is hard to beat. Detailed, balanced sound, surprising amount of lows for the 5" speakers. Nice volume for the size.
I highly recommend it.
Sound:
Clean, round, balanced, very fast sound. Nice treble, defined mids and somewhat surprising lows considering the 5" speakers. Not ultra hifi, but not vintage 1x15" sound either (although with some EQ you could get surprisingly close to either).
Use
I use it in a jazz band (drums, bass, guitar, sax). Play it w/ an Aguilar TH500 amp and US Lakland basses. Sounds great in this setting and it keeps up with the drums in volume.
KEEP IN MIND however this is a 4x5" cab. For a rock band with 2 guitars and loud drums to compete with this probably isn't the one.
Comparison w/ other cabs
The Phil Jones easily holds its own against the few other lightweight cabs I tried/owned. Only one sounded better: the Aguilar SL112 (to me THE perfect cab). The PJ still sounds great though, and at a good price.
Pros:
- lightweight & small size
- clear sound & big volume for this size
Cons:
- (none so far)
I highly recommend it.

Great little cab!
Solid build, yet not heavy. Looks very cute. Sounds great, strong mids, lower and upper. High end rolls off around 14khz, which for me, is perfect. No nasty 'tweeter hiss'. Can easily get loud enough for smaller or mellower gigs. To get very low bass frequencies, you'll need to dial in and boost low end on your preamp. It can handle the lows fairly well, really well considering the size and weight. I wish I'd had a couple of these years ago. Recommended.

Massive!!
I bought the speaker because of the small size in the beginning, I needed something easy to carry in the metro or bus with my bass and my TC BH550 from a rehearsal room to another. First time I played with it I was surprised about the power and the definition, no matter about the size it deliver all the basses and the mids and the high frequencies a bass player will need. I had many different speakers in many different sizes and power before and this one is in my opinion the one that reproduce better the sound of my bass.
Maybe In the future I will buy another one of I will need more volume playing in larger stages.
I highly recommend Phil Jones products to every bass player!!

Small light and loud beast
It is light, small and can be very loud. It handles my 5 string with ease. It needs a little boost in the mid-high/high region to sound to my liking. I put a set of wheels under it to make it even more easy to move.

Small really is beautiful!
When Phil Jones launched at NAMM in 1992, people laughed! They're still laughing but now it's because of the PJB quality of sound, superb build and features. The C4 is outstanding in every way. The sound from this small, high quality cab is nothing short of amazing. Instantly you actually hear the sound of your bass without colouration with a projection that seems to defy logic. What is so good about this cab is that you hear your bass clearly and so do the audience - you don't need deafening volume to hear every note articulated in a very musical way.

Phil Jones Bass C4
This bass cabinet by PJB is truly awesome and could not recommend it more!
For a 4 x 5" (yes 5, not 10") this diminuitive cabinet delivers everything a bassist needs. I complemented this with my Genz Benz Shuttle amp and it is one astonishingly fantastic (and portable) rig. I'm tempted to get another cabinet for a killer rig! Oo===::

Great punch, solid build quality
Using this for a few years now; amazed by the clarity and sound out of this little speaker. Using both for electric and upright bass.

Phil jones piranha c4
I've been watching this little gem for some time now and it's no wonder it's out of stock all the time 'cos it's brilliant. Sound clarity, tone and volume excel my expectations, I'm using it with AI Claris 2 amp with fishmann full circle for my upright bass setup, I'm 10 or so gigs in so far and it's getting better to my ear as I tweak the controls each gig, physically the cab is tiny well constructed and very cute to look at but it's powerful enough to fill any backline jazz gig so far (approx 120 punters, which is a lot for a jazz gig lol). I tried my '75 pbass on it at home and it also sounds amazing. The price point is very competitive for what you get...all in all a true David to Goliath!

Great little cab
I use it with a PJB C8 cabinet. What a sound. Combined they blow away my previous cabs. Solid, punchy and tight. Plenty of controlled bass end with equal mids and highs. Zero boomyness. Love it.
