Great connectors
ChrisR 24.08.2018
I purchased a handful of these connectors while I was in the process of stripping down my pedalboard to the essentials - the first reason was to reduce the amount of cabling and make everything as stable as possible, the second to allow a comfortable distance between the pedals (I have pretty large feet).

These Planet Waves connectors are really well-made, sturdy and elegant. I'm not entirely sure (could just be my mind telling me this) but I also think they made the sound a bit better overall. Even if they didn't, the result is in no way sonically inferior to that of patch cables.

One other thing worth mentioning is that rigid pedal connectors are subject to the problem that the pedals' jack sockets are not 100% straight, as almost all pedals have slightly slanted walls. This means that connecting multiple pedals using even Z-shaped (offset) connectors results in some pedals not sitting flat on the board, placing strain on the jack sockets. But because these connectors have a very wide middle section (pretty much the only complaint anyone else seems to have about them), they compensate for this slight angle, at least with the pedals that I have (TC Electronic tuner, Dunlop wah, Maxon OD808, MXR Micro Chorus and Boss Delay). They won't work with mini-size pedals like the MXR Phase 95 Mini because the jack sockets are TOO slanted, but with full-size pedals, they're great.

I'm totally happy with these connectors on my board and I will definitely be keeping them.

Planet Waves PW-P047B

Very good connector! I use it in my pedalboard, and it works fine. It suited smoothly between two pedals, and it could be used on different height pedals. Highly recommended as a patch.

Solid adapter
Pete K. 21.07.2014
This adapter has proven to be though and seems to be onbreakable. It has solid housing, and after many plug-unplug operations it is unharmed. Of course, this is not a complex electronical engineering masterpiece but a simple connector and has "nothing to break", but I've seen other this design adapters which have had poor plugs with tips coming loose very soon. Maybe it is a little lenghty and leaves a little more space between the pedals than some adapters, but some people doesn't mind that, some people do. Anyway, I recommend it as it is solid, although in case of bad signal (which I don't think will ever occur) it cannot be opened for re-soldering. If the tip gets loose, it couldn't be repaired anyway. I doubt that one too.

If you don't like cables on your effect board...
Klausi2 12.02.2014
...then this might be the solution for you. I own a relatively small board with quite a few effect pedals and always had trouble with the cable management. There are cheaper jack connectors on the market but they usually have problems connecting effect pedals from different manufacturers (as the jacks often don't have the same hight) or doesn't seem to be build very well.
Another important point for me was that with not using cables anymore there won't be any danger of cable break - a nightmare if happening live on stage. In the meantime I'm using 5 of these little helpers and never have been happier with my board - recommended!

chunky, but works
Anonymous 21.03.2016
This is a pretty big connector.
Definitely you could save space using cables.
But it works, and if you have the room on your board then these are solid connectors, removing short lengths of cable floating all over your board.
5 stars, would've given 6 if they were a bit smaller.

Great idea!
Anonymous 17.07.2015
Such a brilliantly simple idea, I wish I had thought of it.
These fantastic little connections allow you to connect pedals together without having to drape wires all over your board.
As these are the angled ones, they will even work when conncting pedals where the input and outputs are at different levels, see my other reviews for the straight ones!
The usual high quality Planet Waves construction, with gold (plated) jack plugs and a 'durable polymer overmould' which is a tough plastic casing with grippable sides for easy unplugging.
Sounds great too - it doesn't add anything or colour the sound of your pedals at all which is exactly what you want from a connector!

A great addition to any pedalboard.

Top quality connector
Apollwn 21.06.2014
This connector has fantastic built quality and looks like it will last forever. The plastic part is very durable and the jacks are gold plated and firmly attached. It has a lifetime guarantee, which is quite reassuring. Although it is more expensive than similar products, the quality seems to justify the price.

The only possible negative attribute that I can find is that the space it leaves between pedals is rather large, at nearly 5 cm. Other connectors such as the Mooer Z only leave 2.5 to 3 cm,while the sssnake pedal adapter leaves even less. This may not sound like much if you have lots of space, but if your pedalboard is rather crowded and space is an issue, you may want to try something different. With another connector, it may be possible to save enough space to fit another pedal on your pedalboard. Otherwise it is a great product and I would recommend it very highly.

Excellent adapter for guitarists!
Anonymous 25.07.2016
The best thing about this adapter is a crease in the plastic housing for the sake of which the output of one pedal perfectly coincides with the input of another.

Excellent adapter for guitar players. Small, sturdy and do not interfere.

Heavy-duty connector
Anonymous 05.01.2016
This pedal connector quality is absolutely great, there's nothing to worry about from sound and durability perspective.

The only thing I was surprised about when I got it - I didn't expect that Z shaped black plastic part to be that big - its width and length is 4cm x 5cm, so it takes quite a lot of space in the pedalboard. It looked way smaller for me in the images :D

If you have a smaller pedalboard, I don't recommend it, but if space is not a problem for you or if you want to have your pedals in comfortable distance from each other - this connector will be a great choice!
