Weird frequencies
I bought an Aquarian performance 2 coated and this head for my Mapex snare. I'm a moderately experienced drummer and have changed heads numerous times. This is a cheap snare. But this head actually sounds worse, far worse, than the old resonant head that was bad to begin with. I've followed tutorials for tuning, tried different combinations of heads, but this one sounds particularly bad. There's a parasite frequency that rings after the initial attack. A normal snare sounds like this: pop. This snare sounds like this: pop WEEE.
