Always RME

I bought this to replace a Fireface 400. I had the 400 for circa 15 years and only due to upgrading my computer and OS forced me to replace. This is an upgrade to the 400. Same excellence in audio quality, easy to install and use. I didn’t want to take the risk of buying a third party product and be disappointed. I can’t recommend RME highly enough.

Für mich das perfekte Audiointerface

Ich hatte 2 RME Fireface 800 in Verwendung, seit diese vor vielen vielen Jahren auf den Markt kamen. Vor einiger Zeit versagten die Netzteil-Elkos in einem FF800 und ich kaufte das FF 802FS, nach dem ich mich an Totalmix gewöhnt hatte und beste Erfahrungen mit den Vorgängern hatte. Die Treiber werden von RME über Jahrzehnte gewartet, die Standfestigkeit der RME Geräte ist hervorragend und das FF 802FS bietet genug analoge Ein- und Ausgänge, um ohne ständiges umpatchen sowohl meine externe Hardware als auch meine Mikrofonverstärker ständig zur Verfügung zu haben. Ich habe mein altes FF 800 (jetzt als reinen 8-Kanal Wandler) und ein Behringer ADA8200 an den ADAT Anschlüssen hängen.

Die Soundqualität war schon bei den alten Ferefaces absolut gut und mehr als ausreichend. Das Gras kann man damit gerade noch wachsen hören, den Austausch der Stromkabeln auf High-End Kabeln aber nicht. :)

Die explodierten Elkos des ersten FF 800 wurden (20,- € bei Conrad) schon geliefert und werden bald eingebaut. Dann wird das unverwüstliche FF800 auch in den nächsten Lebensabschnitt eintreten ... oder verkauft (wenn ich es übers Herz bringe).

Wenn ich einen Wunsch frei hätte, würde ich mir eine weiteres Pärchen AES/EBU Ein- und Ausgänge wünschen.

Insgesamt eine absolute Empfehlung!!!

Meine neue Studiozentrale

Nach meinem Audient id44, klanglich einwandfrei aber zu wenig i/o, wollte ich mich "vergrössern". Anforderung also: mindestens 8 i/o um diverse analoge Synths direkt spielen und aufnehmen zu können, bestmögliche Wandlerqualität bei passenden Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis, und maximale Stabilität der Treiber und Software. Nachdem mir diverse gute Tests und Erfahrungen mit den RME 1610 Pro und M 32 Pro zu Ohren kamen, habe ich direkt bei RME nachgefragt: Beim 802 fs und UFXIII kommen die identischen A/D-Wandler zum Einsatz und auf der D/A-Seite vergleichbare. Gebenüber dem 802 (ohne FS) wurde nicht nur die Clock verbessert, sondern das gesamte Analog-Board neu entwickelt. Da ich auf die Extra-Features des UFXIII verzichten kann, wählte ich das 802 FS. In der Praxis funktioniert das Interface top, klanglich bin ich vollkommen zufrieden. An RME Totalmix muss man sich etwas eingewöhnen, dann klappt alles gut. Kleiner Kritikpunkt am Rand. RME-Treiber gelten als die besten und zuverlässigsten ... Von der Stabilität kann her ich das bestätigen. In Sachen Performance sind - zumindeste auf meinem PC - leichte Vorteile des Audients zu erkennen. Wenn ich das System testweise mit Plugins komplett an der Belastungsgrenze fahre, bleibt es mit dem Audient noch ein bisschen länger knackfrei. Bei RME kommt es etwas schneller zu Aussetzern, der Unterschied liegt aber bei wenigen Prozent ...

Qualitative leap
It is already incredible that a company provides support for so many years. For that reason alone it was clear to me that my next interface would be RME. More than 15 years of drivers. Thank you RME. I hope you will never abandon this philosophy and that other manufacturers will copy you.
