Best mic for the price
For the price to record better sound with a smartphone, is a great solution. Rode is known for good microphone. It works for me with my OnePlus phone and the App that you need (RodeReporter) is easy to use. While recording a video, the mic can pick up my drumkit really good. It's worth for the price and feels really solid.

Very good sound and convenient, but not instantly "plug and play"
This mike sounds really good and can record 24 bit, 48 kHz WAVs. It includes a recorder app, a minijack input for monitoring headphones (which is great, as my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, doesn't have one) and a "dead cat"-style wind shield.
My only gripe is that the mike is not instantly useable when I connect it to my phone. Maybe it's a phone/OS issue rather than a mike issue, but it can take a couple of minutes for it get picked up by the operating system.
Other than that, this is a really handy little mike that turns your phone into a very serviceable portable recorder.
(Note that this is a directional, mono mike, so not ideal for ambient or spatial recordings.)
