The strings are of excellent quality, as expected from Rotosound.
The red silk on the ends of the strings match very well with just about any colour of bass in my honest opinion as I have seen it on many different basses in the past. Although you do need to be gentle with the strings when putting them on the machine heads as the red silk can begin to come apart but it is hardly an issue and not particularly noticeable when they do.
I purchased these strings specifically for a new fretless bass, the ESP LTD B205SM (which I cannot recommend enough) so as to preserve its' fingerboard, the warm tone and smoothness of the strings works well with the style of music a fretless bass may be used for, some may consider flatwounds to sound dead out of the packaging but these sound fairly bright in a good way. I have used Rotosound's Swing Bass 66 Heavy strings for my fretted bass as well and they sound excellent.
The colour coded ball ends are easy to navigate and it would be difficult to accidentally put the wrong string in the wrong place.
Overall fantastic strings, only brand I'd ever need to buy from.
