Very fat sounding, not the clearest sounding but love them!
Wow, these were a huge surprise! I expected a nickel version of the steel 66 Swing Bass but these are COMPLETELY different strings. They feel totally different and they sound totally different than the steel 66s.
These are probably the warmest and fattest sounding roundwound strings I've ever used. I could hear it even before I plugged in. These strings sound remarkably full even unplugged! This fatness comes at a cost though. These are definitely not the clearest sounding strings I've used. In fact they are just barely on the right side of muddy. But I love them! They start out surprisingly bright for nickel strings (sounds more like nickel plated to me) but mellow out after a while. They never sound harsh though, even when new. The highs are very smooth. The mids are beautiful with focus on the lower midrange, hence the fatness and the bordeline muddy sound. The lows extend deep and are pillowy rather than tight.
The texture of the strings is totally different than the steel 66s. These strings are a LOT smoother and considerably less stiff. Very comfortable.
They also seem to last longer than the steel 66s. Or rather, they mellow out more gracefully.
Highly recommended if you're looking for warm, fat sounding roundwounds. Avoid if your priority is bright, clear and tight.

Lovely even tone across the board with this set, I actually keep this set on a bass in storage in Spain, We do 2 or 3 tours each year there, and I am amazed to find them still in tune, still stable. The heat doesn't seem to effect them at all, despite my sweaty fingers running about, I just clean them and put it back till next time. They are on it 3 years now. Cant say better than that.

I bought these strings for my Customized Fender Jazz Bass. They sound GREAT. Excellent tone, perfect for slapping and they last song too.

Very useful for Fender JB
I took them just for the reason to try. I'm surprised and happy, that sound, feeling by fingers are better, than I expected. Nice strings.

Best in the business
My go-to string set as it packs punch while still retaining the warm low end of nickel strings. Put a fresh set of these on my P bass and that thing growls like never before!

Favourite string
Can't really express why but I just prefer the sound of these strings to any other I've tried. They just sound 'right'.
Even though they're nickel, they still have a decent amount of brightness to the sound and they last well.

Really nice for the price, I have a feeling that the first 1-2 days they were not perfect but then they sound better.
