Get one!
Bought this for my Thomann CAS 100 cajon. Was trying to get more separation between the snare slap and bass, but what I actually got was a sound which works brilliantly where you need real punch to the bass, rather than a general 'boom' - Lol! Like anything made by Schlagwerk, it's a quality item. Seemed a little pricey for what is basically a plastic tube, but .... ya get what ya pay for.... Pros? Fitted perfectly in my cajon and the improvement in bass punch was immediate. Cons? tried this in my mates box and it was loose. Measured his sound hole and it was only 4mm (yep - just FOUR mm) larger and it was flopping around to the point where one slap on the front surface had it flying out the back! When they say 'for cajons with an APPROX 120mm sound hole' what it really seems is that MUST be 120mm!!
Other than that.... nothing really. It does what it does - and makes micing the box externally less problematic- a tighter mic pattern (even polar) can be used as the tube focusses the sound.

Using Cajon like a kick drum
We wanted a good portable kick drum sound for a small folk outfit. Removed the snare wires and packed a cheap cajon with padding, using a padded kick pedal. It sound ok, but a bit flabby until we added the bass tube. This thing has the effect of focussing the sound, pushing the subs and making the whole thing more manageable.

Schlagwerk CBT10 Cajon Bass Tube is a great item, it really changed the sound of my cajon!

Excellent!
I was unsure about buying this tube as I couldn't find many reviews about it. It is well worth the money, especially if your hooking the Cajon up to microphones like I was. It really focuses the bass tones and gives defined punch and attack!

Great enhancer
I mounted this tube in my cajon - and the effect was really something: fat, juicy, warm sound just by inserting it in the sound hole. No screws or glue, just press it in and go (it´s got a elastic felt/foam ring around the tube that makes the tube stay in place)! Works especially well with kick pedal!

big bsss tones for you cajon
Just slots in place .... big lift to the bass tones. ..great product. If you have s half decent cajon it's well worth the relatively small investment. I also use it when playing live and amplified . I use sn AKG D22 tom mic, I drop it into the back of the cajon on a tea towel so it doesn't rattle around, doesn't pick up any smbient sound and provides very little feedback problems.. The bass tube improves the bottom end with this arrangement too to give a nice full sound without loosing any of yhe top end snare. A must.

I wasn't prepared for how much difference this would make to the sound. Much deeper, adds authority! Really does turn the cajon into a mini kick drum.

Adds nice low bass tones
I have played some time without this tube and then tested my cajon with CBT10 and the difference is quite big. This tube adds more deeper bass kick sound. I do not want to use my cajon without this tube anymore :)

Must have for Cajon players!
Very simple little gadget, fits nicely into my Schlagwerk cajon and was stable throughout a two hour gig.
Provides a nice solid low end sound from bass htis, and refines some of the boominess when the instrument was mic'd up (audix kick drum mic).
Very good extra, highly recommended!
