This is the third valve I've bought for my Bhringer analogue monster stomp box.
1. A hugh improvement. So much so I use it a lot now.
2. The eq pots really work well now and with the drive at 1/2 setting it gives a very convincing 60s overdrive sound.
3. Cranked up you can just about get any overdrive/fuzz you like.
4. With compression/sustain up before, into the monster, and a touch of delay, into wah, you can have your very own Isle of Wight (I was there in 1970) festival..
It's cheap, buy it, try it..lots of good things come out of Russia..

The Industry Standard
Glenn2822 10.04.2014
The fact that most popular amplifier manufacturers rebrand these as their own should tell you that they are considered the industry standard. If you're not sure what you're looking for from the sound of your amp when replacing old tubes, you can't go wrong with a Sovtek 12AX7.
The one drawback I have found with this brand is the quality. I have occasionally received a 12AX7 tube that has been microphonic and not suitable for preamp duties. However, they performed well in other tube positions and the price of these tubes are so competitive, I highly recommend them. I regularly use these in both my Fender and Vox amplifiers.

Nice tube !
tnemelc 07.10.2017
Used them in the preamp stage of my Randall as replacement for the stock Electro-Harmonix, and they did a wonderful job !
I can't say I noticed a huge difference in sound quality (I am not experienced enough), but they sounded at least equally good !

Good tube for Fender Hotrod
johan75 06.04.2020
I've installed 3 new Sovtek pre-amp tubes in my Fender Hotrod, to replace the old Fender branded Sovtek tubes.
Out of the 3 tubes I received, 1 sounded much darker than the other 2, when in V1 position. So the quality can be inconsistent.
Fortunately, Thomann was so kind to send a replacement tube free of charge.
So, thumbs up for Thomann service!
