i could down-tune as low as my hearts (and my tone) content and it still held nice tension for my fingers

Great set for the price
First, this are good strings. Secondly, the set has a nice price. They sound good, especially artificial harmonics. The material from which the strings are made is very high quality. Unfortunately, the 8th string has the same problem as other budget strings, it is muddy on the low E note. It has enough punch, but no readability. There are no issues with the rest of the strings, they sound great. I highly recommend this set as they sound great for the price.

8th string does not fit in the tuning peg
Most of the other brands make the 8th string a bit thinner on one end so it can fit in the hole. Unfortunately, it's not the case with strandberg strings. I have Cort kx508m and I don't plan on drilling the hole a bit wider so it can fit these strings. So, if you have the same guitar, beware!
