Outstanding guitar
a__carvalho 16.05.2018
This is the most well-sounding guitar I have ever had. It is really well built and the sound is neat and clear. All the frequencies are well worked out and you can clearly distinguish each string clearly when playing chords. When it comes to classic style, it is also sounds very good. Some people complain about the width of the neck, but for me it fits just perfectly.

This guitar sounds good in both live and recording environments. If you are somewhere between a classical guitar and a pop/fingerstyle guitar, this is the must go.

It also comes with a solid and sturdy Takamine case.

Finally, so far no cons, only pros.

VN
Beautiful guitar, but not for those looking sterile sound
Vadim N. 12.08.2023
It's more than 10 years since this guitar has been in production and it was designed as one of the cross-type nylons with narrow and radiused neck.

In my opinion, this Takamine P3FCN has 2 strong points.

First - craftsmanship! If you like beautiful guitars, you'll love it! Gorgeous one-piece mahogany, which is now hard to find, matched sapele on the back, shiny cedar and golden machine heads! Impeccable, no corners cut, really! Plus hard case! Made in Japan! Just to take it ouf of case gives delight.

Second - comfort to play. With its 48mm-wide neck, it is very comfortable and smooth to play. Neck has very good profile. I had to adjust the nut and saddle to lower string height, so it is perfect now.

Unplugged this guitar sounds very good and juicy, has plenty of bass, but the overall volume is not high. Enough to practice and sing.

I wanted this instrument mostly for amplified sound, so what can I say. I has definite acoustic sound when plugged to Boss acoustic singer, which I really like. What I don't like is that "boxy" sound, which I cannot get rid of, no matter what I do. But the overall sound is not bad, maybe lacks a little character... Maybe with good preamp like Fishman it can sound better.

If you want "sterile" sounding nylon string guitar, look to guitars like Godin Multiac and Yamaha SLG200N, they sound very good, but the latter is not so comfortable to hold in hands.

I bought this Takamine hoping it would replace Multiac I once had and sold, but it appeared that it has completely different sound. Good sound, but different!

Très bonne guitare
Anonymous 07.01.2017

- Table d'harmonie un peu trop fine.
