the t.bone HD 815

I got these after my ancient plastic Sennheisers disintegrated so I figured I should try something with a more robust construction. On that front at least these don't disappoint: they feel like high quality gear. There's a nice amount of elasticity on the band, although the earcups don't rotate too much, but it does close in on my ear pretty tightly - maybe even almost too strongly. The cable detaches, but due to the locking mechanism on it, I can't manage to fit any other audio cable I've got in to the hole.

On the sound front these just have way too much bass to be usable as general purpose headphones, and the sound stage is extremely closed in. Reducing bass with EQ makes these okay for quiet guitar playing. In a pinch, the isolation is good enough to muffle your family as long as they are not screaming in the same room.
