Good percussion
The egg shaker is a good investment, giving you the ability to add some natural percussion to your recordings for a very moderate price.
The egg shaker itself is all black, except for the "Thomann Music Is Our Passion" text on one side of the egg which is somewhere between white and grey. There is a quite visible and uneven seam (not as in textile, but as the molding together of two pieces of plastic) in the middle of the egg. I am not bothered by it as long as the egg stays in one piece (which it has so far), but you can feel it if you slide your finger across the egg.
The egg shaker is a nice to have percussion instrument. It is loud enough to be heard in moderately noisy environments. It incidentally also works great as a toy for cats, being tested and approved by a persian cat several times.
Given the very low price, I think it is a no brainer to try it out if you need some percussion for one of your recordings. That, or if your pet needs a new toy to play around with that can sometimes be used as an instrument.

You can shake it
This hard shell egg makes a very nice crisp and loud sound. I've never used an egg shaker before but within 10minutes I was able to produce some nice rhythms. By holding the egg tighter or cover/capsule with the other hand you can change the pitch of the sound. With a little practice I even made a rattle snake sound which is great for my viking/nature style music productions. This egg shaker is a must for every percussion collection. Low price but great possibilities and sounds.

Cheap and have a nice 'egg sound'
It is just an egg shaker, there is no much to comment about :) This one is cheap and does the job pretty well.

Can't go wrong
As the title of this review suggests, you can't go wrong with ordering a few of these to either play yourself, or pass on to other band members or friends. It sounds great, and is dirt cheap.

Free of Charge
Thomann very kindly sent me this shaker free of charge along with another purchase, which was a very nice touch. These things are great for a bit of audience participation for anyone who does acoustic gigs or likes busking....just throw them the shaker and get them to join in :) If that doesn't work it's always good for smacking the drummer with when he starts cranking the tempo up.

Nice Sound, Low Price, Fun to Use
The title says most of it - these are inexpensive, fun to use, and work perfectly for me. Varying your hand movements lets you produce a nice range of sounds ranging from a soft swooshing to a hard and percussive attack.
I use them at all-acoustic jams, and they are exactly the right loudness to go with six or seven acoustic guitars all playing together. I found that their small size, comfortable egg shape, and inconspicuousness encourage shy people to try using them, which is great for friendly jam sessions.
This is a nice addition to my studio. I was looking for some small, inexpensive additions to my percussion section. These are made well and sound good.

It's a little shaker, not incredibly loud but can get the job done. very happy with it.
