The only thing I don't like is the case
nyt tiedän miksi on kukkia 13.08.2020
I only bought this instrument to see if I can learn the trumpet. No big loss if I can't because it's only 150€ - and if I can, that just means I'm good to start saving for a "real" instrument. Of course I can't tell how good it sounds but I'm having my money's worth of fun, the valves work fine, the thing is loud as hell.

In case Thomann is listening, I have two improvement suggestions for the trumpet case that would make it more practical in use:

1) The inside of case has form-fitted spaces for a shoulder strap and wiping cloth/gloves(?!) - both spaces are functionally useless, and there's no room in the case for a mute! If you rearrange the case to have a space for a practice mute ("mute not included"), you'll sell more practice mutes!

2) the side pocket of the case isn't quite big enough for A4 size sheet music. You have to cram 'em in.

Awesome for a beginner!
SylveerB 11.06.2019
I wanted to to start playing the trumpet. So I bought the cheapest trumpet with the best reviews. With a faint heart I awaited the quality of the delivery. But oh my, what a nice package! Case, mouthpiece, some cleaningcloth, valve-oil, a practice book with cd and ofcourse the trumpet. I immediately took it to a friend who has been playing the trumpet for longer than he lives. And he was amazed by the quality! I am totally addicted, so I play about 2 - 3 hours a day. Sadly the main waterkey spring already gave up after a small month. But other than that it is a fantastic trumpet for it's price! If I would break it I would not even wait 2 minutes to order me another one! For that price you really can't go wrong!

Surprisingly decent

If you know how to take care of a brass intrument, this trumpet will be with you for years to come. Just clean it, oil it and lube it, and the pistons will work like butter! Sounds more than ok for a cheap trumpet. Don't expect a special sound, don't expect crap either. The included mouthpiece is fine too, but consider buying a better one after a while.

Plus, it comes with a free semi-hard case! Very good deal. Make sure to always leave the baggie of silicon pellets inside. If one isn't included, find one.

In conclusion, if you are a beginner or a budget user, love this trumpet and it will love you back.

A lot of trumpet for not a lot of money.
Gene W. 26.09.2022
Let's be realistic folks--this trumpet is right in the range of the really cheap junk that is sold by many non-music retailers. I did not have high hopes for it, but decided to see what Thomann could deliver.

I am pleasantly surprised at the relatively high quality of this product given its cost. The setup was done reasonably well, with fairly smooth slides and a better fit-and-finish than I was expecting overall. The valves themselves are a bit tight, but some light oil and break-in helped to make them quite playable. From a playing standpoint, the instrument functions reasonably well, although it doesn't have the core or response of a better instrument from Yamaha or Bach.

Is this a forever instrument? No. But it will work for a beginner trumpeter for a few years, and if it goes to the scrap after that, it will have served its purpose.

Great beginner's / kid's / camping trumpet
Peter Jaques 03.08.2023
I picked this up for a 9-year-old student who wanted to start learning trumpet. The trumpet is perfectly fine, with decent valves, a clear tone, and good intonation. The parts are definitely a bit cheap — the screw holding the 3rd slide ring doesn't want to stay in place, for example. But for the price, it's perfect. You won't mind that much if it gets banged around, as kids' instruments do.

Plus: the included case is excellent, i was jealous. It's small, no wasted space, but quite protective.

Perfect for the unsure and casual
Vinter 15.05.2021
At this price point, this is a perfectly viable instrument and is well fitted for the individuals that are unsure of the instrument and also a casual like me that just sometimes picks it up to play some basic tunes for fun.

Great introductory trumpet

Very descent sound and quality for its value. Recommended for beginners.
Make sure you oil the valves 1-2 times a week (oil's included) and grease the slides once a month.

Great trumpet for beginners
Sara Drumair 02.12.2020
This is a trumpet for beginners. It gives more than you can expect for the price. It has nice case, with everything you need to take care of your trumpet. If you are into playing trumpet for fun or if you are a beginner this is a trumpet for you. I am also not trumpetist so I can not give detailed review on the sound, response and features, cause I don't have other experience with trumpets except this one, but my friends who play trumpet were impressed by the quality for the price.

Very decent trumpet with great quality/price ratio
MK23 02.01.2023
If you are seriously consider playing trumpet I think it is better to go for yamaha despite the price diferences (extra couple hundred bucs) or maybe even get used one. Because the response on TR200 is quite poor and yamaha ones are doing much better job to ease the playing.

Despite that, I must say more than decent trumpet for begginer, maybe cheap alternitive for bad weather or rough use.
It for sure can be played well and with the right mouthpiece can sound very good.

Maybe get one if trumpet is not your primary instrument and you would like to learn it a little.

I dont think there is better new trumpet
On the market with that much quality for so little money.

Happy playing if you decide to get one.
