Good low-cost rack
thetruearsonist 24.10.2018
I purchased the Thon Rack 2U Eco II 35 right before moving apartments, as my Fractal Axe-FX Ultra didn't have a proper rack case yet, and I wanted something cheap but protective for the ride (as well as maybe bringing the unit to a few gigs or rehearsal spaces in rare cases).

Pros: the construction of the case is pretty sturdy, and with the Ultra it leaves enough room in the back to keep the cables.

Cons: as the price suggests, however, the walls of the case are made from a relatively elastic material which may not fully protect against impacts.

So generally speaking it's a pretty good case, but I would not recommend this to a touring musician, only to someone who carefully wants to move their stuff once or twice a year.

A nice flight case for the occasioning travels
NikMartken 21.06.2018
This Thon case is well made, nice profiles and can handle two 19" units pretty easily. Thanks to its great stability, it's a good choice if you want to keep your units well organised on your desk (I've used it for a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and a Behringer ADA8200 on top of it).
It comes with all screws and gasket, a really nice feature so you can use it straight-away.
The only thing that made me uncomfortable were the panels: they are made by some kind of strong lightweight rigid plastic, a good thing for the occasional travels from place A to B: these panels give a good protection and thanks to the lightweight, the whole thing is not a big problem to carry around. But if you are a constant travel guy that needs to record in different places with his gear, I'd choose something with wooden panels for extra protection.
Overall, this is a good flight case that I recommend if you are looking for something easy to carry and that keeps everything in one place when you need to move somewhere.

Case was thinner than I thought.
Boris8476 23.03.2014
Generally a good item. Good price. The walls were a little thinner, more flexible than I expected:- some sort of honeycomb plastic that will bend. So this will not give the same protection as plywood etc. Still, may be reasonable if you know your case will not get too many knocks.

Good for the price

This rack has lasted well. It was cheap, so don't expect miracles.... but if what you are using it for is lightweight, then this could be a good rack for you. Very lightweight rack case, uses a kind of corrugated plastic for the surfaces not wood, but that's part of what makes it so light and cheap.

good enough for transport and minor knocks...

Wouldn't trust it with a major impact though. Although, given my reluctance to stress test my own gear with a suitably large implement, who knows? Recommended.

Sturdy. light and a good value

I bought this case for taking my compressor out on the road and it handles just fine. I wouldn't recommend it as a flight case but for gigging out of a van it does the job. The clasps seem well built and the corners are all still where they should be.

The rack is ok but is not very stable if you want to put some heavy amp inside.
