Great upgrade, but
I added this to my older silverface Apollo Quad. While I think it's a worthwhile upgrade, there is a caveat, IF you can afford it. I personally think it's highly overpriced for what it does. That does seem to be the case overall with anything Thunderbolt related of course. Ditching my Mac Pro to go Macbook Pro helped me make the shift.

awesome upgrade if you own an Appolo rack unit that has no Thunderbolt natively
Installation takes 5 minutes, no manual needed, plretty much plug and play. It got recongnized instantly on my mac. Noticeable difference in throuput at low latency settings.

A new world!
The optioncard gave me a completely new UAD ecosystem , enhanced features like alt monitor controll, automatic rollback when plugged into a FW system , acsess to Uad Luna wich now is my primary recording software (it’s not a daw!). And the best perk: lower latency!

Perfect Apollo upgrade
I am very satisfied with this Expansion Card. It is very easy to install and works without any problems at all. My old Apollo Quad (Silver FW) has been given a new lease of life. Highly recommended!
