As an alto player I want to have the classic sound with some modern edge. It is like a mix of Cannonball Aderley sound with contemporary sound. I use Theo Wanne NY Bros which is a large improvement for a vintage Meyer and bought this reed to try. May be I do not like "american cut" but neither V-16, nor ZZ suit me. Java Red have much more modern sound and better compression.
