Exquisite ingredients

The top of an acoustic instrument plays an absolutely crucial role in giving it a balanced sound – so on the Warwick RockBass Alien Standard 5 Left-Handed, it's made from solid sitka spruce, a top-tier choice. The neck is crafted from mahogany, while the back and sides are made from agathis, also known as kauri spruce. Lefties have a full 24 frets at their disposal, while the wenge fingerboard is complemented by a bridge and thumbrest made from the same wood for a consistent look and feel. The Standard 5 has nut width of 45mm, slim for a five-string, making it especially easy on the hands. High-quality chrome hardware, produced in-house, includes Warwick's signature adjustable nut and security locks system. And if this acoustic Alien's volume isn't quite enough, the built-in Sonicore piezo pickup and Sonitone preamp, both from Fishman, will be happy to help.

Titanium-brass frets

This Warwick bass is among the many that now feature frets made from an entirely new alloy: titanium-brass. This hard-wearing material doesn't alter the classic warm sound of a Warwick fingerboard, or its precise playability. The golden colour is eye-catching, too. The titanium is primarily intended to prevent tarnishing: Basically, the frets will look good, sound good, and feel good for longer. The ball-end frets are inserted into the tonewood via Warwick’s proprietary Invisible Fretwork Technology, with the fret slots stopping just before the edge of the fingerboard, improving resonance and comfort.
