Scalable plug-and-play wireless
With its True Diversity antenna technology, automated channel scanning, and rechargeable batteries, the Xvive U35 Microphone Wireless System is one of the quickest ways to turn what was once a wired connection into a wireless one. The Xvive U35R is a standalone receiver for the U35 system, sold here separately for use with existing U35 transmitters or as an additional receiver in larger setups. Providing a range of up to 30 metres, these plug-in units are designed for dynamic microphones, battery-powered condenser microphones, and line-level signals. For condenser microphones that require an external 12V or 48V phantom power supply, Xvive also offer the U35C system, identifiable by its purple rather than red rings. Both systems transmit in the almost universally licence-free 5.8GHz band, using 24-bit/48 kHz converters. The six selectable channels means up to six sender–receiver pairs can be used in the same venue at once.
Perfect pairing
Plug in, power up, pairing. That's the more or less the entire setup process for the Xvive U35 Microphone Wireless System. A small switch allows users to toggle microphone and line-level signals, and then connect the transmitter to the audio source, while plugging the receiver into a mixer input, for instance. A free frequency can be found either automatically via the auto scan function or selected manually. Transmission takes place between 5730 and 5844 MHz. To ensure a stable connection, performers should hold the mic itself, rather than covering the transmitter with their hand. The system can transmit frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz across a dynamic range of 110dB, with latency of 5ms. Multi-stage status LEDs provide information about connections, wireless signal quality, and battery charge level: After two and a half hours of charging using the supplied cable, both transmitter and receiver will run for up to five hours.

The Xvive U35 Microphone Wireless System could scarcely be easier to use, making it particularly approachable for newcomers – although it still offers pro-grade True Diversity wireless performance, switching automatically between two discrete antennas to find the strongest signal. More importantly, it gives singers complete freedom of movement on stage – even allowing them to dive off stage if the audience demands it! And their bandmates no longer have to worry about cables underfoot either, with signals from guitars and basses handled with the same audio quality as vocals. Similarly, presenters, comedians, and MCs can focus entirely on their presentation and, when required, join the audience or pass the mic around. Stage techs and event organisers also stand to benefit from faster setup times. About Xvive Audio
Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Instant upgrade
The Xvive U35 Microphone Wireless System is an instant upgrade on a whole range of wired audio signal paths. And the other practical advantages of the scalable U35 system are almost as diverse as the settings it can be used in. Half a dozen paired sets might be employed to bridge the distance from the entire band on stage to individual inputs on a mixing console, without cables crossing walkways and fire exits. As an additional, single-unit receiver, the U35R is particularly useful in applications where the same signal is required in more than one location simultaneously. This can come in particularly handy when the receiver/transmitter path is switched – that is, when the transmitter is plugged into the output of a mixer desk to send the same audio signal to multiple receivers plugged into PA speakers distributed throughout a venue. If the audience is breaking line-of-sight between the units, the connection can be optimised by using a shorter cable from the mixer's output to position the lightweight transmitter on a wall or stage truss.
