Disappointed

This isn't my first and only guitar. I bought it as a spare.

I was torn between the Yamaha and the Harley Benton GLG Custom Line, but ultimately chose the Yamaha because of the company's reputation.

First of all, it looks beautiful in that "amber" color.

The workmanship is very good, the tuning is precise, and the string action is quite low.

However, I don't like that it's powered by two AA batteries. All the guitars I've played so far have been powered by 9V batteries – they're easy to replace and don't require removing the battery compartment. This is different with the Yamaha APX 600, where you have to remove the battery compartment first and then insert new ones batteries.

The battery compartment latch is also very delicate; I'm afraid it will break sooner or later. The battery compartment also accidentally popped out a few times :(

I noticed that AA batteries drain much faster than 9V batteries (which last up to several months)

But what disappointed me most was the sound. I understand that the guitar is small, so you can't get a deep and loud sound. However, the Yamaha APX 600's sound is, how should I put it, a bit boxy. And to be honest - when compared to my 12-year-old Richwood, which was much cheaper - Yamaha sounds poor. Sometimes I feel like the Yamaha sounds like a toy.

In summary, it's a good practice guitar, precise and comfortable to play, but if you're expecting a sound that will blow you away, unfortunately, you won't get it.
