You are buying just the wood
This Pacifica has the flattest, thinnest, and most soulless single-coil pickups I’ve ever heard.
I bought into the humbucker with coil split on the bridge pickup, and let me tell you, this guitar is not good at either and it's even worse with the coil split.
I liked the idea of Yamaha quality and the versatility of an HSS configuration, but honestly, with this guitar you’re paying for the wood itself. The pickups are poor, the frets are rough, the hardware is bad quality, pots are loose and the pot covers don't sit well and woble around, the unfinished maple neck feels very dry, it grips your fingertips and doesn’t allow for smooth movement. No matter how many times I’ve tried applying oil, it stays that way.
