I am not violinist, however, my father loves these strings on his Harley Benton HBV 880BR violin... he tried a lot, often also much more expensive strings, but these are the standard for him... "A" string is fragile due to aluminum. All 4 strings have steel core. All 4 strings has balanced sound by playing.
