S
Great MIDI interface for EuroRacks
StudioRP 23.05.2020
With learn you set the MIDI channel and also the initial note. Very clever. USB connection is also available. It works flawless, so I am happy to use this as MIDI interface for the ReBach EuroRack modules.

MIDI/CV made easy

The A-190-3 does what it says on the tin. It's simple, intuitive and small. You'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Needs better documentation.

I was just about to remove this module from the rack and send it back to Thomann because I couldn't find a way to change it to last note priority. Is there a point to any other note priority?? It comes as high note priority from the factory. The way to do it in Cubase is by going to the Inspector and to the Program Selector and choosing program 16 and putting the module into learn mode by holding down the learn button for a few seconds. I did it whilst a small section was in looped playback but I don't know if this was relevant. Now my A-190-3 is in last note priority mode!! I had to trim the pitch scale a lot, pitchbend has to be wired in and I think modulation from the Mod Wheel is not available but now it is all working solidly.

Midi to CV with surprises
watsoid 23.04.2026
This is one of the better Midi convertors I’ve tried and for that reason this is the one I’ve kept in my rig. At only 6hp it takes up little space, it’s rugged as all Doepfer stuff is and it has a couple of tricks up it’s sleeves. In particular a selectable mode I really like and which suits my main purpose for it is only to play ‘new notes’. If a note repeats, the CV conversion doesn’t trigger until the next note plays.
