Impressive Sound and Clarity

Having used these with a 1000W crown amplifier for both small and large venues I am incredibly impressed with the clarity of the high end sound. Clear and bright it has a distinctive sound that carried well irrespective of the venue. Bass is also nice and punchy when the speaker is amplified right.

EV has done well making them both durable and lightweight which made them the ideal choice for lugging around to smaller venues. The speakon daisychain connector also makes multiple speaker set ups easy. But remember that for larger venues you may need to pair them up with some base bins to fill out the low end sound,

If there was one thing I could say objectively about them though, be careful about pushing them a little too hard. While the speakers can handle being pushed it does occasionally lead to slightly harsh highs for those that are sitting close by.

What Can I say about these speakers? Industry standard, Probably one of the most versatile speakers ever made. Bought four of these along with a Dynacord Powermate 1000, Perfect match! Not terribly heavy either. Well constructed
300w with a 1200w Peak, Amazing vocal reproduction

Ive used these for all aplications.... Main FOH PA, Monitoring, Bass Amp, DJ gigs, Rentals, Outdoors, Still going strong!

It is no accident that these speakers are the industry standard for the average gigging musician, good sound, reliability and they are also powerful while still being small enough and light enough that from a logistics point of view they fit nicely in the boot of a car and you won't do your back in carrying them in and out of gigs.

Great sound and a real workhorse

These speakers are light, powerful and sound great. They can really kick out the sound when required but are equally as happy in a quieter acoustic setting. The high frequency driver gives good definition and a long throw when needed. Mid range is tight and accurate and the bass is ok but limited by the size of the enclosure. If you need a lot of bass, you'll need a sub of some sort. The SB122 matches it although needs a big amp to effectively drive both units together.
