Fender Tex Mex Pu Set

I'm not a super expert when it comes to strat sounds but I own and I have played a few and I have to say I love the sound of this set. I tend to prefer thicker/warmer strat type of sound and this set delivers exactly the sound I prefer, very bluesy and nice for many other things too. Thomann offered a great price for this set at the time I bought it.

These pups really put the twang into my project Squier. Tested with others as an experiment, but desided to take a shot with tex mex set since I love the sound of my signature SRV. Not even close. They are more harsh, bitey, and trebley in comparison, actually quite a tele-type of sound. Love em. Worth every Euro, but if you are looking for SRV sound, go for Texas. Tex Mex is a feast of it's own, you know - south of the border.

Used them well, but ultimately upgraded from these to Jimmy's younger brothers pickups.

If you want to upgrade your Strat and increase the output of your pickups to get more of that ZZ Top sound this is a good place to start
