As tough as a gator's hide

For over 25 years, the good people at Gator Cases have been keeping our beloved instruments safe from bumps, drops, and travel mishaps great and small. This is exactly what the Gator Icon Electric Bass Gigbag was designed for, too, and it has a list of knockout features as long as a gator's tail. Let's start with its elegant design, immensely robust construction, and the weatherproof outer shell; then there's the spacious interior, the TSA-approved high-grade zips, and a serialised bag-tracker with laser-etched QR Code should it ever get lost on its travels. And for those travels, this Gator also has an integrated rain cover, multi-ply rubber shock absorbers, padded handles – and even a bottle opener! All this means the Gator Icon Electric Bass Gigbag is the ideal companion both for a professional touring musician and for anyone who's ever had to ride their bike to band practice and back... through the rain.

Come rain or shine

The Gator Icon Electric Bass Gigbag boasts a multi-layered synthetic construction, so it's extremely sturdy but still nice and flexible. On the outside, it's finished in tough, weather-resistant 1000D nylon. Inside, the Icon series is padded with soft foam, covered in red micro-velvet to keep even the most sensitive instruments well wrapped up. The interior is shaped to make sure that bass guitars from pretty much all major brands will fit; of course, since not every bass is exactly the same, the neck support block is easily adjustable, as are the removable body blocks, for extra protection and greater flexibility. For cables, straps, setlists, and indeed almost anything else, there are multiple pockets on the front and back, and two handles and stowable backpack straps also mean the Gator Icon can be carried in a variety of practical and ergonomic ways.

When it has to be the best

The Gator Icon Electric Bass Gigbag is a case that ticks all the boxes, especially for professional players: It's top-of-the-line on protection, comfort, portability, storage space, weather resistance, and even peace of mind in case of loss or theft. This all makes the Gator Icon a top pick for players who are always on the move – whether they're walking, driving, or flying. But it's not just session specialists or musical nomads who will appreciate what a Gator gig bag has to offer. A case this solid is perfect for anyone who wants to keep their beloved instrument safe and dry – so they can take it with them in comfort whether it’s once a week or once a month. But especially for travelling musicians with high-end basses, the Gator Icon Electric Bass Gigbag is a superb choice.

About Gator Cases

Gator, or Gator Cases, is an American firm founded in 2000 by father-daughter team Jerry Freed and Crystal Morris in Tampa, Florida. Initially, Gator began with a modest range of moulded plastic guitar cases. From there, they expanded the product line to include case and bag solutions for the whole field of instruments and equipment. A wide variety is covered: Instruments, microphones, and all aspects of live performance, including lighting equipment. At the same time, products for other media areas such as photo and video are also available. All products are made of high-quality plastics, wood, textiles, and EVA materials. The Gator companies also include flight case manufacturer Viking Cases and guitar strap manufacturer Levy's Leathers Ltd., as well as Gator Rackworks and Gator Frameworks.

See you later..!

With the Gator Icon Electric Guitar Gigbag, a bass player can rest easy, knowing their instrument is safe and sound – whether they are just out and about or hitting the road for an arena tour. But Gator doesn't stop there: The Thomann lineup includes a whole host of other Gator gear, with many of their premium products made in Indiana, USA. We carry a wide range of hardshell cases and gig bags, plus pedalboards that come ready with multiple power supplies, cabling, and specially designed cases. Gator also make stands, multi-stands, wall mounts for guitars and basses, and even fretwraps to mute the instrument's strings and prevent unwanted vibrations - so they've got the whole rig covered!

Now that's what i call a Gig Bag!
FraneIzOmisa 17.07.2025
I was a little skeptical about giving that much money for a gig bag, but once the package arrived and i opened it I didn't regret a single cent! The build quality is superb, it has multiple handles and backstraps than can be tucked away into their own compartment. The case is very sturdy, it's not the lightest but it's very comfortable to carry around. It even has it's own raincoat that is stored in the front top pocket! the inside of the bag is very spacious, i have a pointy 35" scale bass and it fits without a problem. you can also store a lot of things around the bass (straps, cables, string, etc. )
