I finally bought this as my original snare wires did not "come through" enough. I confirm - this thing will give a cheap snare maximum amount of "boost" soundwise. Remember to change your drumheads, it's a must! New quality heads+this thing = much, much better sound. The price - if this thing was made out of gold for example, would it really matter soundwise? There are some snare wires that are much more expensive, but in reality I doubt it would make such and audible difference as the price suggests.
Negative: you might notice that the snare rattles now way more on the background, when others play their instruments. But that's what you wanted, right:)

Gibraltar have really nailed it on the head this time. If you're looking to completely transform the sound of your snare, then purchase this item! I was blown away by how much snap and volume these snare wires added to my mid range snare. I will be telling every drummer I know about these wires. Thanks Thomann!

I was a little scared when I bought this. I mean, so much strands! But its just what I wanted. It makes your snare drum very sensitive, and fattens the sound.
