La Cabronita Build Heaven
I purchased a pair of these for a two pickup La Cabronita build. I'd spent a long time searching the web to find some of these that weren't shipping from the US to UK to avoid all the tax and extra costs. Thomann does it again.
I chose these over the TV Jones because when I tried two friends guitars I was able to compare the two brands directly. To me, the Gretsch had the bright Tele sound without the the harshness of the TV Jones.
Build quality is obviously top draw and these things look great when they're installed.
Installation was very straight forward. I had a La Cabronita body with the correct routes already cut, if you're doing your own then it might be more difficult
Sound quality is great. these pickups clean up nicely but give them a little bit of drive and they growl. fantastic response!! I wouldn't look any further than these for your build or upgrade.

Affordable way to get that Filtertron sound
I bought this to modify my Squier 70's Thinline Telecaster that has Widerange Humbuckers as stock.
Fits nicely on the guitars humbucker slot.
Powerfull sound volume on full, that sweetens nicely when turning volume and tone down a bit.
Works like humbuckers so these are hum cancelling and fairly silent even with high levels of gain.
Only small annoyance was there is nothing else but pickup in a plastic wrap when you buy this product. So no screws, foam or installation instructions included.
Successfully mounting this pickup you need to be able to drill four pilot holes to your guitar in correct places and get stuff like Göldo foam rubber to place underneath pickup, Gretsch wood screws and replacement 3rd party pickguard that has filtertron or tvjones sized slots.
If you little bit of experience in doing it your self and want to have a filtertron sounds out of your guitar that has humbucker sized slots, i can recommend this pickup.

Love this pickup!!!
I bought this to go inside of my HSS Tele and I love it. The sound and build quality are amazing not to mention it looks amazing. I installed it myself and it fitted perfectly where the humbucker was.

Wish I tried these years ago!
I believed that Gibson were my favourite pickups, having owned 10 different Gibsons. But I've been utterly blown away by these Gretsch FilterTrons. Superb clarity, great depth of tone and a wonderful sustain. Playing through a Marshall Plexi, and I'm finding it really easy to dial in the sounds that I want. I'm definitely converted to these pups!

Awesome Filtertron sound!
I put this into a partscaster thinline cabronita I built which sounds incredibly open with this humbucker. More open than black tops but not as punchy. Perfect for a thinline guitar!
I'm very impressed especially for the price. I can't see how TV Jones could be any better and they are a lot more money. These filtertrons are very articulate and probably sit closer to a P90 than a PAF style humbucker. They really sparkle which isn't something you can say for PAFs.
With gain they are really raunchy and produce a lot of pinch harmonics with ease and little gain. AC/DC riffs just roll out of these pickups! I certainly won't be changing them any time soon, they will be staying in my cabronita for good!

A sound changer
I purchased a Gretsch G2410t a couple of years ago. I was never happy with the sound of the standard brod-tron pickups. I bought a set of Gretsch filter trons and rings from Thomann. They arrived in good time and these pickups have changed my guitar. These lower output pickups are clear, clean and have great clarity compared to the brod trons that were hotter and more muddy and less defined. They totally brought my guitar to Life.
