Good quality for price!
Robin92bass 07.01.2022
Bought this as an introduction to fretless playing and was very impressed with the product.
It has a plastic feeling to it and the fretboard itself is a little rough but the sound it produces is surprisingly nice and has a rich wooden tone. If your in the market for a double bass sound without the price tag or storage issues this is definitely worth a purchase.

JM
Fits the purpose I intended
João Madeira 04.07.2022
I wanted a fretless bass, and a semi hollow bass. In this instrument, both the options intersect. The sound is very good, it os possible to choose between a snappier sound from the bridge pickup, but also an upright bass kind of sound from the front pickup.
However, I think the build quality could have been improved. The nut seems to be taken from a fretted Beatbass, and the strings sit too deep within the nut. Also, the nut thickness is too great, which makes it hard to fret the first and second fret.
The bridge needed some tweaking, but I guess that is expected from a Beatbass, as it would be expected from a Hofner bass.
The truss rod needed adjusting, but the support team helped greatly, and answered my e-mails remarkably quick, so a big thank you.
For the money, I believe it is a fantastic bass.

Nice to play now and then
Wobbled Headpiece 10.05.2023
I've had one of these a long while now, apart from using it on the odd song to try and impersonate a double bass, I've not really got on well with it.
As usual with HB can't fault the quality for the money, the bridge is a bit of a pain to adjust but it is the same as it would be on a Hofner.. Dots aren't all that helpful.

More than worth it.
Eatin'Cakes 28.01.2021
If you've ever wanted a fretless violin bass for a good price then I don't see how you could find better. It's exactly what you think it is, and it delivers that classic sound in spades. The only real negative is the neck dive is pretty bad but some lighter tuners will fix that easily. It's light, it plays well and right out of the box it was ready to go. Very satisfied with this instrument.

i
beautyfull bass

I have long wanted to try playing the fretless bass and decided not to spend too much money, in case I will not like it.
In general, the quality is not bad, the finish is flawless but the bass was not set up at all. It would have been easier to give it to the guitar repairman right away, but I decided to set it up myself. I had to adjust absolutely everything: the truss rod, file the nut, set pickup height, set the bridge height and scale lenght. There were sharp screws sticking out of the bridge that could scratch the body (at least they put a cloth under the bridge during delivery) I filed them with a file, all plastic parts were so sharp that you could cut your fingers also had to be blunt with a file. Stock strings were terrible, the 4th string was absolutley dead.
As a result, after full setup and changing the strings, i got a pretty good bass.

Good afordable vintage style bass
oneiroi 03.09.2020
Pretty good deal for a fretless bass, electronics are pretty basic and the switch is a bid clanky with the disposition to put out some noise. I bought this for its potential to be build up and used as an electric cello... sort of, so the vintage style body with the cutouts are really convenient option. The only thing left is an update of the adapters with an alternative that have an option to regulate the height below each string. It would have been an even greater deal to have them initially.

What a fine bass
Raggissimo 01.04.2020
It took me a while to find the sound I wanted. But I found it. After changing strings and fiddling with the knobs I found this fine full bodied woody sound I was looking for. This is a surprisingly good bass. The sound is even from the lowest note to the highest. If you are a bassist wanting to explore the wonders of the fretless underworld of sound then this is a fine start. I have played many a bass in my time, expensive stuff, famous basses, but this little thing will stay with me for the rest of my days. Cheap in price, very rich in sound. It may take some time to understand the features, but believe me the sound is there.

Real bang for the buck!
Pops Spliff 05.04.2024
To be honest for 200 Euro I wasn't expecting that much, just something to mess with.
I was so impressed with the one I bought to have a bass in Germany to play when visiting my brother that I bought another for here in the states!
Sounded decent out of the box but with little tweaking ( DiAdario half round strings and properly setting the bridge for correct intonation ) I have a bass that is truly a marvel! Sound and play ability are 1st rate!
Have recently sold my Godin A4 that I had since '96 as the Beatbass can't be beat! Love it.

s
fantastic basic fretless for starters !
staxmotownjunkie 06.02.2018
I took of the strings , diismantled the whole giutar since I bought it as a base to start building my own sound ,fitted Gibson pickups I still had in the workshop and labella Black Vynils but first I had the neck completely polished and oiled so now it is a nice fretless, one thing the hollow body has tomuch sustain so I fitted a demper just after the bridge to get a more punchy sound . well what do you want ??? you pay only 150 bucks for the base and from there start to modify it to your own likings ,Its better then taking all the frets out of a standard bass what I have been doing before . Ifyou knowwhat to do this is awonderfullset for the price ! Thx Thomann !
